Mini DV

About Mini DV Tapes

Mini DV Tapes came out in the mid 1990s and were a revolution in quality and size. With a much smaller tape came the portability of a much smaller camera.

Mini DV was the first digital tape format available to everyday users.

The quality of the Mini DV format was excellent for the time and is still widely used today in many cameras. The quality of the videos depended greatly on the quality of the camera.

Cameras today range from around $300 up to $10,000 and all are capable of using the same small Mini DV tape.

By transferring your Mini DV tapes to DVD, you will ensure the longevity of the memories on that particular tape will be kept for years to come and that the quality will remain the same as the day it was transferred to DVD.
